Terms of Service

Effective July 30, 2026

The service

The Neverending Painting is one shared image with unbounded depth. Zooming into an unexplored area asks an AI image model to paint what lies deeper; the result becomes a permanent part of the one canonical painting that every visitor sees. By using the service you accept these terms.

Discoveries and ownership

  • Everything you reveal becomes part of the shared painting, permanently. You receive discovery credit — your explorer name attached to the places you were first to see — not ownership of, or exclusive rights to, any part of the artwork.
  • Newly painted detail is provisional for about 24 hours (the “drying period”), during which defective or unsafe content can be repaired or removed. Discovery credit is yours from the moment of reveal.
  • We may remove content that is unsafe or illegal, even after it has become canonical.

Fair use of a shared canvas

  • Generation runs on a fixed shared daily budget. When it is spent, new detail waits for the next day; everything already revealed stays explorable. Rate limits and dive quotas exist so no one can drain the budget alone.
  • One person, one account. Creating multiple accounts to farm discoveries or exhaust the budget, and any automated or scripted exploration, is not allowed.
  • Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, probe the API for vulnerabilities, or manipulate what the image models paint.
  • We may suspend accounts that break these rules. Suspended accounts can still browse the painting and can still delete themselves.

Pigments and purchases

  • Explorers can acquire digital consumable Pigments to power deeper canvas generation and name discovered Places. Available Pigment Palettes and pricing are listed on our Pricing page.
  • Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Xsolla (xsolla.com). Xsolla is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Xsolla provides customer service inquiries and handles returns.
  • Purchases and refund requests are governed by our Refund Policy.

Your account

Signing in requires a Google account. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page; what happens then is described in the Privacy Policy.

No warranty

The service is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. The painting's content is AI-generated and curated on a best-effort basis; generation may be slow, unavailable, or produce results we later repair. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damages arising from use of the service.

Operator information and contact

The Neverending Painting is operated by Ran Shaltiel. For customer support, billing inquiries, or data requests, please contact us at support@neverendingpainting.art.

These terms may change as the project evolves; the effective date above changes with them.
